November 22nd

Hector

  • Tried to come out of room less frequently when going to sleep
  • Content to play inside all afternoon
  • Interested in lining up alphabet letters
  • Ran Brio train along track
  • Wanted to play in his own room

November 23rd

Hector

  • Wanted to play with dinosaur puzzle and tried to put pieces together
  • Did not ask for TV for several hours
  • Put cars/trains on Mario track instead of lego and watched when cars slid down the track
  • Did not insist on me being in room when going to sleep

November 24th

Hector

  • Started making happy sounds when got through the gate at school
  • Looked at every giant number card (about 30 cards)
  • Followed directions and put 6/7 rings on his stacking puzzle
  • Brought lego Spiderman upstairs
  • Went to sleep 20 minutes earlier

November 25th

Max

  • Nearly rolled over again

Hector

  • Went to sleep ten minutes earlier on his bed not the floor
  • Counted along with LBB and read numbers in dinosaur book
  • Very interested in his books
  • Used a stamp himself

November 26th

  • Lots of smiles/laughs while being read to

Hector

  • Went to sleep 10 minutes earlier, settling himself by reading 10 little dinosaurs
  • Focused for a short book
  • Played with number cards for at least 30 minutes

November 27th

  • Let me help him do one section of 3D puzzle
  • Tried to put Brio track together
  • Went to sleep 20 mins earlier

November 28th

  • Walked/ran a mile and a half
  • Liked Uncle Jonathans knitted santa
  • Tried his first hot chocolate
  • Asked for a different TV show
  • Made conversational noises
  • Lined up Lego people

  • Lots of gurgles in his chair

  • Lots of focus lining up dominos, coming to me to get new ones
  • Read for 5 minutes at school
  • With support of blanket sat still for story and started looking at a different book
  • Stroked Max’s head

  • ‘Tidied’ chalks
  • Tried to copy a circle
  • Let me help him try to use scissors
  • Decorated Pudsey with stickers

  • Rolled over for the first time

  • Interested in opening/shutting lego gates
  • Went to sleep an hour earlier on second night
  • Knew where his toilet wasz
  • Didnt try to go down slide when other children were on it
  • Was very patient on way home when got no cake in first cafe and sat very nicely for lunch

  • Looked at me playing with Froggy scales and raking outside
  • Labeled things as bo and said wa when I called it the wall
  • Played with building blocks putting them with his lego
  • Drew a line with chalk
  • Played with sweeping brush
  • Didnt remove the stick for the hoop toss and understood how it worked
  • Cuddly while watching TV
  • Took off my socks
  • Stroked Max’s head and held his feet

November 9th

Max

  • Tried to roll over
  • Enjoyed tummy time

Hector

  • Played with pencils/stamps and let me help him colour briefly
  • Played in his room on his own before bathtime
  • Correctly chose a red pen when I asked which one was red
  • Lots of sounds while moving chalk

November 10th

Hector

Had fun baking, working together to put cases in the tin and letting me help him stir and spoon in the mixture

November 11th

Hector

  • Showed interest in bubble fidget toy
  • Showed interest in getting dominos out
  • Did some sticking of stickers for around 10 mins
  • Played piano on and off for 20 minutes including letting me use hand over hand to play with one finger at a time
  • After wanting to run calmed down to play with toys for at least another 30 minutes without having to go outside

November 13th to 14th at Carol’s

Max

  • Sociable with lots of people
  • Gurgled while Max the Brave was read

Hector

  • Found the right car when he wanted to leave the play area
  • Copied other children in the skate park and went to play in the same place
  • Played nicely in a new environment
  • After initial shock was interested in stroking the dog
  • Understood where the toilet was and went when he needed to
  • Focused while a short book was read turning the pages himself
  • Pushed trains on a track
  • ‘Tidied’ when moving trains by putting them in a box instead of on the floor
  • Played nicely with dominos and organised them by colour
  • Copied when I said down

November 1st to 7th

  • Wider range of sounds
  • Improved head control
  • Batting toys intentionally

Hector

  • Did a morning at school
  • Played with Isobels surprise box for over an hour
  • Watched Room on the broom for 10 minutes
  • Played with pencils while sitting at the table for at least 20 minutes
  • Paid more attention when running so didn’t fall over into wet mud

November 2nd

Hector

  • Showed preference for yellow pencils
  • Chose and looked at nearly 10 books at library
  • Happy to be dropped off at school showing interest in multiple things outside but still walked in happily

November 3rd

Max

  • Very excited waving arms and happy.to be given bouncer toys

Hector

  • Had his first bath in 3 days!
  • Appeared to say stairs when going down them
  • Said boa while asking for bath toys which included some boats
  • Used his favourite yellow pencil (with help for the grip) to scribble rather than just running with it
  • When told he had to be outside to run went to the door happily and was helpful with shoes/socks including attempting to put on own sock

November 4th

Hector

  • Put his hand on the screen when ‘Daddy finger’ was playing
  • Enjoyed watching yoga magic and came to join in
  • Requested his bath
  • Became happy when said ‘home’

November 5th

Max

  • Hit the elephant so it played music

Hector

  • Tried to stroke a cat
  • Stroked Max’s head
  • Allowed his hair to be cut without being held (hugs only)
  • Put a lego figure on a car
  • Had a 10 minute bath and played with the bath pipes
  • Enjoyed the music at assembly
  • Said ba after I said bath

November 7th

Hector

  • Stroked a cat and then tried to chase it when it ran away
  • Watched Grandad wash the car
  • Did some sticking, scribbling and stamping and showed interest in paint and scissors
  • Put lego people on the base
  • Played with lego in the bath and then gave me one lego piece at a time instead of lining them up himself. Also did this in his room

October 23rd to 31st

  • Ran his first parkrun in 18.18

October 26th

  • When I wrote 123 said 4 and added some lines
  • Was careful going past Max in his chair
  • Responded to Max getting attention by seeking it himself
  • Walked near the lake at Elsham

October 27th

Max

  • Enjoyed batting his toys

Hector

  • Created his own game of transferring the chalks from one place to another and focused on this for at least half an hour
  • Had a much longer bath than he has recently
  • Did not run much inside
  • Put on own PJ bottoms without needing to be told

October 28th

  • Played pooh sticks

  • Went to rhyme time and tried to join in
  • Showed interest in the story being read
  • Consistently used his spoon
  • Showed interest in lego people
  • Fetched and tried to put on his own wellies when wanted to go out
  • Began to listen when asked to walk inside

October 30th

  • Enjoyed playing with the cash register and trying to work out how it worked
  • Pushed two pieces of the dinosaur puzzle towards each other

October 31st

  • Came and did some stamping after watching me
  • Played with musical instruments and played the piano nicely
  • Sat and coloured/played with stamper pens for 15 minutes
